Makita Warranty Policy

Effective from 1st March 2025

Coverage Overview

Makita Power Tools are designed to deliver high performance and durability. To ensure customer satisfaction, we provide the following warranty coverage, effective from 1st March 2025. (Customers who purchase on or after 1st February 2025, can avail of this warranty.)

  • Standard Warranty: 1 year on "Makita brand" DC (Including Lamps, Laser Liner), AC and Pneumatic Tools from the date of purchase. and 6 Months Warranty on "Makita -mt- brand" AC Tools, covering defects in materials or workmanship (manufacturer defects).
  • Extended Warranty: Additional 1 year on "Makita brand" DC (Including Lamps, Laser Liner), AC and Pneumatic Tools. and 6 Months on "Makita -mt- brand" AC Tools provided. The product must be registered on the Makita Online Warranty Portal within 30 days of purchase to avail of this extended warranty.
  • Warranty on Battery, Portable Power Pack & Charger: 6 Months Standard Warranty and 6 months extended warranty if registered on the Makita Online Warranty Portal.
  • Warranty on DC/AC Heat Gun & Heat Jacket/Blanket: Heating Elements are not covered under warranty.
  • Warranty on Automotive Industry Tools: Extended warranty is not applicable.

DC: Cordless/Battery Operated Tools.

AC: Corded Tools (Run with AC Power 110V/240V).

mt: Makita mt series tools (Model Name: MxxxxB).

Eligibility for Warranty

  • Products must be purchased from authorized Makita dealers or Online portal in India.
  • Proof of purchase (invoice/warranty card) is mandatory to claim the warranty.
  • Extended warranty is applicable only if the product is registered on the Makita Online Warranty Portal.

How to Register for the Extended Warranty

  1. Visit the Makita Online Warranty Portal by scanning the QR code or visit Makita official website www.makita.in.
  2. Click on the Warranty Menu
  3. Create an account by using your mobile number and log in.
  4. Enter product details (Purchased from, model number, serial number, purchase date and Invoice Copy).
  5. Upload the proof of purchase.
  6. Upon successful registration, you will receive a confirmation email or text msg to your mobile.
  7. The company will review the Warranty Extension request and provide a response (Approve/Reject) within 7 working days.
  8. Once the Warranty Extension is approved, customers can log in to the warranty portal to check the tool's warranty coverage period and the expiration date

What is Covered Under Warranty

  • Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship.
  • Repairs or replacement of defective parts, as determined by Makita's authorized service centers.

The warranty does not cover for

  • Normal wear and tear (Carbon brushes, Bearings, Mechanical Parts, Plastics Parts, O-rings, Consumables & Accessories).
  • Damage caused by misuse, negligence, or improper maintenance.
  • Tool subjected to unauthorized repairs or modifications or the use of non-Makita parts.
  • Damage due to external factors such as accidents, water, fire or voltage fluctuations.
  • Damage due to misuse or physical damage is not covered under warranty.
  • Battery & Charger damage due to misuse, overcharging, over discharge or physical damage.

How to Claim Warranty

  1. Visit the nearest Makita Authorized Service Center or Makita Factory Service Center
  1. Provide proof of purchase and warranty card. For extended warranty claims, the registration confirmation.
  2. The service center will inspect the tool to determine if the defect is covered under warranty.

Note: Warranty coverage is limited to a single claim per tool during the warranty period and applies only to manufacturing defects and Extended warranty not applicable for rental usage.
